What is Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training?
BFR training is a safe and proven method that uses a specialized cuff to limit blood flow to the limb during low-load exercise or passive recovery. This restriction mimics the effects of heavy lifting, helping build strength and muscle — even when you’re unable to move or lift weights.
Who is The BFR Cuff for?
Whether you’re:
Recovering from surgery or injury
Managing limited mobility or pain
A clinician seeking better tools for patients
An athlete looking to train smarter, not harder
The BFR Cuff was designed with you in mind. It’s for anyone who wants to make progress — safely, effectively, and confidently.
When should I start using The BFR Cuff after an injury or surgery?
One of the most powerful benefits of BFR training is that you don’t have to wait. Within days of an injury or procedure, you can start with a passive protocol — no lifting required. Always check with your doctor or physical therapist before starting a new rehab strategy, but many people begin using the cuff right away to reduce atrophy and support early-stage healing.
How is The BFR Cuff different from other cuffs?
Great question. Here's what sets ours apart:
Built-in pressure gauge for real-time adjustments
No detachable pump — consistent pressure, no guesswork, no hassle!
Durable and affordable, designed for daily use
Made for both clinic and home use
It’s everything you need — and nothing you don’t.
Do I need to be exercising to see benefits?
Not at all. BFR can be used passively — just apply the cuff, inflate to the recommended pressure, and relax. This passive protocol can help slow down muscle loss, reduce pain, and support early recovery, especially in the first few weeks post-injury or surgery.
Is The BFR Cuff safe?
Yes — when used as directed. BFR training is backed by years of research and is used by physical therapists, professional athletes, and rehab specialists worldwide. The key is accurate pressure control, and The BFR Cuff was designed to make that simple. Still, if you have a medical condition, always consult with a healthcare provider before beginning BFR.
How do I know what pressure to use?
Pressure varies based on the limb and your individual comfort. A general guideline for general exercise is to aim for 60-80% of limb occlusion in the lower body. For best results and safety we always recommend you to get your occlusion pressure from a healthcare provider such as a physical therapist. Our cuff’s built-in gauge helps you easily monitor and adjust pressure without guesswork. For the passive protocol, for safety reasons, it is necessary to get your individualized occlusion pressure from a healthcare provider. And if you’re unsure, we’re happy to help — just reach out.
